Dominican Republic

A week in paradise with great friends! Rosanne and Gabe (our Honeymoon pals), were having a special christening ceremony for their son Derek. They were having their family come in for a beautiful week in the Dominican Republic, and they invited us along! A week at the Dreams Resort in Punta Cana was exactly what the doctor ordered.

With a bag full of Persifor (and a few other resort looks), I headed off!

Paradise! Well, almost. So, upon our arrival, we got stuck dealing with a pushy sales person who kept trying to get us to attend a time share deal. We kept telling them, we didn’t want this. They also encouraged us to upgrade our rooms. We declined… and then we got to our room. It was a ground floor room that felt like a bad college dorm. Lamps were broken, lights were out, and the blinds were broken. The AC was also not working… Nate immediately went back to the front desk to inquire about an upgrade. YES. DO THIS. Our crappy room was in a building where they clearly put the spring breakers and vacationing families with lots of children. We got moved to a nice suite for an extra $200 TOTAL. Then there was drama getting our bags delivered. Thank goodness for Rosanne. Being fluent in Spanish, she finally took over, speaking the native language and getting results! Boom. Bags delivered to new room.

These ladies! It was wonderful to reunite with our dear friends Rosanne and Gabe. It was fun to get to meet their children as well as Rosie’s sister Diana and her boyfriend Patrick. Any nerves I had walking into a family vacation evaporated immediately. These are the BEST travel buddies ever, and Diana and Patrick are amazing as well!

The resort had LIVE PEACOCKS walking around. Truly paradise.

Lilly Pulitzer flamingo dress, meet real life flamingos!

I LOVE this hat. Hats by Olivia delivered the perfect statement for this trip. Out of Office? Yes, please!! This Persifor sarong was ready for beach day. I’m not sure if the red is sunburn or alcohol. That swimup bar really did me in.

Headed to dinner in this cute Persifor palm dress with KSlade clutch!

Nate and I got to swim with Dolphins. AMAZING.

Loren Hope bling and Persifor clutch.

Can we move here?

Big day! Derek’s christening! I threw on this Sail to Sable pineapple dress with a Persifor pineapple scarf.

Me and my best bud Natalia!

I decided to change for dinner. This lovely Persifor dress was shorter and better for the heat!

One of our last adventures was a boat ride to a small island for a luncheon adventure.

I could stay here forever.

Last night in Paradise with these friends!
