Striped Swimsuit

This may be the most nervous I have ever been to make a post.

It’s been a long time since I was bikini body ready. It’s a struggle that I’ve been dealing with for years, and I constantly feel like I am getting no where with my weight. When you have cute clothes and know how to dress, it’s easy to forget the extra curves. Bathing suit season? Can’t forget them.
For a long time, I have struggled to find a flattering one piece bathing suit. I discovered that two pieces (counter intuitive as it may seem), were just more flattering to my body shape. I discovered that one piece suits tend to look TERRIBLE on me. They make my body look weirdly bean shaped. It sounds crazy, but it’s true. I tried all kinds of different bathing suits. Ruffles, ruching, peplum, all made me look distinctively like a kidney bean.
Last year, I was obsessed with this one shoulder, red and white striped bathing suit from J.Crew. I tried it on in the store, and of course, I looked like a kidney bean masquerading as a sailor. They released it again this spring, and I of course, have been coveting it. I noticed that new for this year, they were offering it in a long torso option. I have been told that I have a long torso, and very short everything else. I thought I’d give it a try. GAME CHANGER.Β I LOVE this bathing suit. That extra length in the torso really makes all the difference in the world.
I still have a long way to go in terms of feeling bikini body ready, but I am glad to find a bathing suit I can feel comfortable in!

Can’t wait for the beach!
