I was very lucky to attend a dinner with industry colleagues at RPM Italian in DC. I’ve been dying to try it for months, but hadn’t made it over there yet.
Firstly, the restaurant is gorgeous. The lighting is beautiful and creates a great ambiance.
We started with the chilled seafood tower. Talk about spectacular items. The snow crab, lobster, and shrimp were perfectly cooked. Huge, succulent specimens, all beautifull presented and high quality. The shrimp were enormous. We were a party of 5 and we crushed this.
Homemade fresh riccotta. So yummy!

Gluten free bolognese! Not only is RPM a premiere dining destination in DC, but full scale Italian restaurants that have gluten free menus are pretty rad. In case it was not apparent, this was to die for. The sauce was rich and meaty, and the pasta was prepared flawlessly. This was just an exquisite eating experience.
They were having a dessert special wtih these little donuts. They were little bites of heaven. We couldn’t stop eating them! AND we knew what we had coming….
I cannot emphasize this enough. ORDER THE TORTA MERINGATA. It’s the tableside flaming dessert that is a SHOW. We had so much fun watching this be prepared. It was very tasty.
We had a wonderful time at RPM Italian. The service was exceptional and the food was delightful. We’ll definitely be back!
