Channeling Blair Waldorf in NYC

My amazing friend Victoria is one of my absolute favorite people in the world. We met back in 2013 in Atlanta, and immediately fell in love with each other. She lives in Long Beach, and only travels to DC for work once or twice a year at most. She called me up to let me know that she’d be in NYC with her husband, so of course I had to hop a train up to see her! It was tricky because it was marathon weekend, but I hauled myself up just to spend the day with her. V hadn’t seen a lot of New York, so I promised that we could trot around to iconic places and have a full NYC experience. (If I’m being honest, she asked if we could visit iconic UES Gossip Girl sights, haha which was perfect because my outfit was extremely Blair Waldorf. Such nerds).

We of course had to start the day off at Sarabeth’s Central Park location.

Afterwards, I had to take her around Central Park. Obviously, we headed straight for the Bethesda Terrace and Fountain.

I fell in love with this navy bow dress from J.Crew the instant I saw it! It is the epitome of me, and I absolutely had to have it. Unfortunately many people felt the same, because they instantly sold out of my size in the regular. Fortunately, they had it in the “tall” size (hahahahaha), so I got that and asked my tailor to shorten it. Worked like a charm. I really felt that this outfit required red tights and a jaunty beret. It felt like the perfect outfit to tour V around NYC.

Just two girls having the best day ever…

We then headed down to the Conservatory Pond to see the toy boats.

After the park, I took V over to Laduree to experience their deliciousness. Macaron ice cream sandwich? YES please!

We did a little window shopping on Madison Ave…

And then of course had to duck into the Plaza.

We wanted another drink, so I took Victoria over to Grand Central Station so she could see it… and then we dropped into the Campbell Apartment for some cocktails.

We ended up at the rooftop bar of her hotel. The Magic Hour rooftop is on the Moxy, which is an adorable new boutique Marriott property in NYC. The cocktails were good and the views were excellent.

I had SO much fun showing my wonderful friend some of my favorite UES places in NYC. There is no city in the world like Manhattan, and there is no friend quite like V.
