Tulle Skirting Around LA

When I saw that J.Crew had created their Ready to Party collection, I was pretty excited. When I saw that they had added tulle ball gown skirts to it, I was both elated and everrrrr so slightly skeptical. On what occasion would one wear a pink tulle ball gown? The answer I realized was EVERYDAY. I was so excited about this outfit, and I decided to bring it with me to LA. What better place to wear it than to La La Land, right?

This is truly the perfect outfit to bounce around LA in. Made a stop by the LACMA, to weave in and out of the iconic lamp posts. With the right sunlight playing against it, this outfit gave me so much joy as I jaunted around.

I chose to pair this gorgeous skirt with this little white top from LOFT. A few months ago LOFT was having a 50% off of everything sale, and the clearance was 60%. Just for fun, I scrolled through the clearance, and I realized that this top was on sale for $9.99, with an ADDITIONAL 60% off. Yes, I got this top for $3.99. I love the cold shoulder tank, and it’s simple enough to wear with a skirt this voluminous. I added a fascinator, because let’s go all in on being fancy, and the outfit really screamed for it. Add my Kate Spade Iman heels (my newest love and current show obsession), and these wonderful J.Crew earrings that I got on sale as well! I chose to leave off a necklace, despite my assertion that there are many Loren Hope pieces in my collection that would bring this together even more. With the large earrings, fascinator, and sheer volume of the skirt, I needed to edit just a smidge to keep things from getting too over the top.

As mentioned in my previous post, I wanted to show the scale of the California Dreaming mural. It’s enormous!

Jumping, and I couldn’t touch it. Feeling and looking lighter than air!

I finally made it to the famed Silver Lake Stairs. I was disappointed to see how much graffiti has defaced them, but was still delighted by the rainbow staircase and the perfect halo lighting that the trees were letting in. Considering the outfit, I felt like a princess descending my rainbow stairs. The lighting was dreamy, and the slight breeze caught the ruffle of my top and created a beautiful flare to match the sun flight flare.

Never be afraid to be fancy.
